Conecta Migrants Small Business Development Course

Conecta Migrants Small Business Development Course

About the program

The vision of Scalabrini Centre of Cape Town is “to foster the culture, social and economic integration of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers’’. One way that Conecta Migrants Small Business Development Course does this is by recognizing that all programme beneficiaries (South Africans, refugees and economic migrants) have the right to work and are better able to integrate into society when they have access to and can participate in the South African economy.

The Small Business Development Course aims to achieve this through the development of entrepreneurs’ potential in South Africa’s Western Cape Province. To do this, we are looking for 35 innovative early-stage business ideas or established businesses that will benefit from our 6-month online incubation programme.

These businesses will further develop the viability of their ideas, following a clear structure and receiving weekly support from a volunteer mentor and incubation team to guide them through the process. All entrepreneurs will be paired with volunteer mentors to get the support they need in creating sustainable businesses that make a positive impact in the Western Cape (Cape Town).

After completing the programme, they will be able to download an executive summary of their business plan and use it to present to potential investors or new-founders.

What requirements must be met?

  • Entrepreneur in early-stage phase (idea, proof of concept, PMV, prototype, or early stage startup/small business) in any sectors.
