What is CARIBEquity?

CARIBEquity is a Facility co-funded by the European Union and IDB Lab that aims to strengthen the Caribbean investment ecosystem to promote inclusive private sector innovation.

What is Conecta Caribbean?

As part of CARIBEquity initiative, Conecta Caribbean serves as a regional platform that connects key players in the entrepreneurship ecosystem—founders, mentors, support organizations, and partners. Through collaboration, capacity building, and access to funding opportunities, Conecta Caribbean empowers entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions that address real challenges across the Caribbean.

Phase 1: Selecting Conecta Africa ESOs

We are looking for 25 pioneering ESOs who share our purpose in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa and Nigeria

January-April 2025

Phase 2: Conecta Africa Summit

A Retreat for ESO Leaders to connect, learn and collaborate, followed by an ecosystem-wide event with public and private actors.

May 27th-30th 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya

Phase 3: Conecta Academy

Receive capacity building to enhance your organizational capacity, efficiency, and sustainability and get ready to launch the incubation program.

June 2025 – September 2025

Selecting Conecta Caribbean ESOs

We're looking for 25 innovative ESOs from Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago!

March 3-5, 2026
Conecta Caribbean Summit

in Bridgetown, Barbados.

This marks the official launch of the initiative — a 3-day gathering designed exclusively for ESO leaders to connect, learn, and collaborate through interactive sessions, peer exchanges, and co-creation workshops that strengthen networks and inspire regional action.

March 2026 – May 2026
Conecta Academy

Access tailored training to strengthen your ESO’s efficiency, sustainability, and impact through the Conecta Academy. ESO leaders will engage in community-led learning labs, expert masterclasses, and connect with peers across the region — building the knowledge, tools, and network.

Phase 4
June 2026
Pitch Competition for ESOs

ESOs will have the opportunity to pitch for a grant to design and launch their own incubation program. This competitive phase will empower selected ESOs to turn their learning into action and directly support entrepreneurs in their communities.

Phase 5
February - April 2026
Celebration event and Impact Reporting for Y1

The year will conclude with a virtual regional event to share results, lessons, and success stories from participating ESOs. This closing moment will highlight the collective impact of the first cohort and set the stage for the next cycle of Conecta Caribbean.
